Welcome to the project website for the Town of Bridgton Comprehensive Plan Update!

Over the course of the planning process, beginning in the fall of 2023, the community has provided valuable input to guide the development of the draft Comprehensive Plan. Thank you to all the boards, committees, Town staff, community leaders, residents, and other community members who contributed to this planning effort. The new Comprehensive Plan will guide future growth and policy decisions for the Town over the next decade.

Project Updates:

Thank you for your input!

To date, the Town has shared a number of opportunities for the community to provide feedback. These opportunities included an in-person kickoff meeting, community survey, vision statement survey, meeting-in-a-box activity, community conversations, focus groups, a future land use workshop, visual preference survey, and ongoing feedback on this website and at Comprehensive Plan Task Force meetings. Opportunities for community input were shared through the Town website, local events, Bridgton News, Town-wide mailings, and email updates.

The Comprehensive Plan team has prepared a draft plan for review by the Planning Board, Community Development Advisory Committee, Select Board, and members of the community. We welcome your input through this website, or at one of the upcoming board or committee meetings.

For more information, please visit the How to Get Involved page, here, or contact Haley Richardson, Community Development Deputy Director (contact information below).

The draft Comprehensive Plan has been updated. A revised version for review and discussion at the May 13, 2025 public hearing of the Bridgton Select Board can be accessed by clicking the button below.

Learn More About Future Land Use!

A future land use plan is an important part of the comprehensive plan. The future land use  map is a visual tool that shows where different types of homes, businesses, amenities, and open space should go.

The final plan will include a future land use map, descriptions of each land use area, and action items that provide the basis for future changes to Bridgton’s Land Use Code and policy decisions.
